Representing a new landmark for the town, Gleneagle Manor comprises two new build developments containing 26 luxury apartments. Ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 sq. ft. the apartments are designed in traditional Georgian style, boasting high ceilings and large windows. Built on the site of a former hotel, Gleneagle Manor is situated within Harpenden's conservation area and sits just a stone's throw from the town's high street.
RDT Architects provided full architectural design for clients Jarvis Homes and involved ET Clay Products Ltd early in the specification process so they could perform a site appraisal and then submit brick and stone samples to the conservation officer. The development provides a focal point for Harpenden and it was therefore essential that Gleneagle Manor utilised the highest quality building materials allied to superb craftsmanship.
With help from ET Clay Products Ltd RDT Architects, specified the facing bricks and stone from Forticrete's compressive cast stone portfolio to enhance the quality, character and aesthetic appeal of Gleneagle Manor. This included window heads, cills, surrounds, copings, quoins, balustrades and a portico. The external façade of the luxury development also boasts decorative Ashlar blocks
Once materials were selected ET Clay Products Ltd provided a full contract management service for the contractor including site visits, take offs and delivery scheduling.
Gleneagle Manor Apartments has received the Harpenden Civic Society's highest award for enhancement of a local area.
